Scripps Gerontology Center
Located at Miami University in Ohio, the Scripps Gerontology Center is one of seven such
centers in the United States. This site includes an extensive and detailed list of frequently asked
questions and an exhaustive links page. In addition, they have many publications with some
available in PDF. Their
Aging in Ohio section has detailed reports at both the county and state level on

Social Science Research Council
Founded in 1923, the Social Science Research Council (SSRC) is an independent,
non-governmental, not-for-profit, international association devoted to the advancement of
interdisciplinary research in the social sciences. This site is designed to inform social
scientists and students about the activities of the SSRC. Scholars interested in applying for an
SSRC grant will find descriptions of fellowship programs in these pages, as well as information

Social Work Access Network (SWAN)
SWAN is an on-line interest group composed of caseworkers, counselors, therapists, students,
administrators, and professors in the social work fields. SWAN is dedicated to promoting technology
as an instructional enhancement tool across the social work curriculum. SWAN also provides

This is the site of Canada's national statistical agency. The agency collects information in
three broad subject areas: demographic and social, socio-economic and economic. The site allows you

This comprehensive federal government site provides a good overview of government programs
that are addressing mental health concerns, as well as substance abuse issues. The site includes
direct links to The Center for Mental Health Services, The Center for Substance Abuse Prevention,
and The Center for Substance Abuse Treatment. The web site includes access to statistics, reports
and managed care initiatives. It can be searched by keyword. A one-stop resource that provides
health care information prevention, diagnosis, and treatment services for substance abuse and
