Library Catalog: Call Numbers
Each online Library Catalog entry gives you information concerning a book’s call number, location and status. Here is an example:

Call numbers are unique identifiers used to locate books within a library. The Lillian F. & Milford J. Harris Library uses the Library of Congress (LC) classification scheme for its collection.
A sample LC call number looks like this:
HV37 .S579 1996
Other libraries on the campus of Case Western Reserve University also use the Library of Congress (LC) classification scheme.

HV37 .B873
When searching an online catalog, make sure to write down the complete call number of the book you want to find on the shelves.
