Laptop Computers

Laptop computers are available to be checked out by MSASS master’s students for a three night loan period. The master’s computers are loaded with Microsoft Word software.

All students wishing to use the laptops must have received a laptop orientation prior to first use.Computers must be returned promptly at the time the library opens to avoid substantial late fees.

In Fall 2007 it was determined that the laptop circulation policies and procedures needed to be updated to more accurately reflect how these computers are being used today. As a result of this we have rewritten the agreement form that must be signed before a laptop can be borrowed and some of the procedures have been changed. If you wish to read the full extent of the changes stop by the Circulation Desk and ask for a copy of the new Terms of Service.

Here are the two biggest changes:

• Availability will be on a first come, first served basis only; no reservations.
• A person must wait at least 24 hours after returning a computer before they can borrow a computer.

These changes to laptop circulation policies took effect on January 1, 2008.
