Epson Equipment Booking Policies And Procedures
Please read the policies and procedures below before filling out the Epson Equipment Booking Form
The Epson projector is booked through Lena Ford (x2155 or lmf4).
Bookings are made on a “first requested, first booked” basis
Only MSASS faculty or staff may book the projectors. Requests from guest speakers, students, special meeting or training leaders, or continuing education instructors will not be accepted. Please do not put these individuals in the position of asking us to accept reservations in your name.
Whoever books the equipment must pick it up and return it to the Library at the end of the session. Whoever books the equipment is responsible for the equipment while it is being used.
Whoever wants to book the projector must have attended an orientation session for the equipment. The orientation takes about 10 minutes and must be done prior to booking the equipment. It is strongly suggested that you arrange for the orientation as far in advance as possible to ensure that staff will be available for the orientation. The Library will make a notation on each borrower’s record to indicate that the orientation has been received. Without the notation the equipment cannot be borrowed.
Portable equipment requires a separate orientation before the equipment can be booked. Orientation to both machines can be done at the same time.
Lab technicians, library staff or IT staff will provide orientation. Library Circulation staff will coordinate the orientation sessions.
If you wish to use your own laptop computer with the equipment on the cart that fact should be made known when the orientation is scheduled. Portable projector requires that you have a laptop to hook into the projector. The Library cannot guarantee that a library laptop will be available for your use. If you are not sure how to hook up the laptop to the equipment on the cart please let us know at the orientation session. If you are using a laptop for Internet access you should contact Carmelo Franchina (ext. 2307 or email cxf34) to determine whether your laptop can be configured for the network before you book the equipment. Library staff cannot provide assistance in this area.
Support for the equipment, once it is in the classroom, will be provided based on the availability of staff.
The equipment on the cart cannot leave the building and cannot be taken off the cart. Portable equipment can be borrowed for three nights due back on the fourth day before the library closes.
Borrowers are responsible for damage or loss of the equipment. Damage due to negligence or unfamiliarity with the equipment will be the responsibility of the user. In case of loss or theft, etc., the borrower will be responsible for the full replacement cost.
