Information about library services and programs for Mandel School alumni.
Reference Services
As part of the Library's mission to support the information needs of social workers in the
greater Cleveland area the
reference staff are available
to provide assistance to alumni and members of the social work community around social work issues.
This service is intended to provide a starting place for you to begin or continue your research and
is offered in person or over the phone. If your question involves extensive research and use of a
number of information sources you should consider our research and consultation services.
Research/Consultation Services
Librarians at the Harris Library can provide assistance with individual and agency
information research needs. We provide basic assistance in formulating your research strategy, show
you the databases to use and how to use them. Where available we can help you access similar
databases through your local public library and your home or office computer.
Since these services are time intensive, we must ask that you call ahead and schedule an
appointment to meet with a librarian. These sessions will run approximately 45 minutes. Monday and
Friday are usually the best days to try to schedule an appointment. The Library can also do library
research for individual or agency needs for a fee. Our initial consultation is at no charge. Please
contact
Samantha Skutnik for
additional information and fees.
Staff Development Programs
The Lillian F. & Milford J. Harris Library provides staff speakers for your agency or
organization around information seeking and use. Our staff can tailor a program that will fit your
information needs.

information.
E-mail services
As of August 2, 2004, alumni e-mail services were changed to e-mail forwarding only. Please
go to the Case
Alumni Relations site for additional
information.
