Kathleen Quinn-Leering - Staff, Children and Families |
Kathleen Quinn-Leering, Ph.D., is a Senior Research Associate at the Center for Interventions for
Children and Families located in the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences (MSASS), Case Western
Reserve University. She is the research coordinator for two intervention projects funded by the U.
S. Department of Education. Prior to joining the Center, she was involved in an evaluation of the
Early Childhood Initiative's Special Needs Child Care component being conducted by MSASS's Center
on Urban Poverty and Social Change. Before coming to Case, Dr. Quinn-Leering was a Post-Doctoral
Fellow at the Institute for the Study and Prevention of Violence, Kent State University, where she
worked on an evaluation of a large-scale school-based violence prevention project. She has
published and presented professionally in the areas of early childhood development, child care,
violence, and pre-service teachers' moral development. Dr. Quinn-Leering's research interests have
their roots in her experiences as a child care teacher and include young children's socio-emotional
development and issues related to child care. Dr. Quinn-Leering received her doctorate from the
Combined Program in Education and Psychology at the University of Michigan.
