Julius L. Jessup - Staff, Children and Families |
My name is Julius L. Jessup I am a first year student at the Mandel School of Applied Sciences. I
graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. in May 2004 Prior to completing the summer
practicum for the Responsive Teaching Traineeship, I was intern/volunteer at Hopewell, a
therapeutic mental health farm in Mesopotamia, Ohio. My previous experiences have been in child
advocacy and education. I have done student teaching and lobbying for education equity in high
school and college. I also completed the Kenneth Cole Undergraduate Fellowship for Community
Building in Social Change. During this time I developed a theoretical framework that involves using
schools to help low income youth build healthier communities. I hope to become a clinician, so that
i can write effective policy and advocate for low income youth who have been abused or dealing with
mental illness get the resources, they deserve.
