Sylvia Olascek - Staff, Children and Families |
My name is Sylvia Olascek and I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in psychology from
Baldwin-Wallace College. My interest in early intervention first came from my own experience
with my younger brother who happens to be autistic. Because of him I have been involved with
volunteering in special education classes and with the Special Olympics. Over the years, I
have also been involved with Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) Therapy with two separate families
working with their young autistic children. During my first year at MSASS, I was placed in
the Parma City School System working with their truancy program and also had experience working in
their First Step Preschool, which integrated both children with special needs, those who are at
risk, and peer models. I will be a second year student at MSASS and my concentration is
children, youth, and families.
