Monica Hay - Staff, Children and Families |
My name is Monica Hay and I am a second year student at the Mandel School of Applied Social
Sciences. Originally from Clyde, Ohio, I attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio and
graduated in May of 2004 with a B.A. in Psychology. During my time at Denison, I was
employed as a child caretaker for the after-school program of the local elementary school.
My first year field placement at the Mandel School was with Alta House Social Settlement located in
the Little Italy district of Cleveland. At Alta House, I served as Case Manager for the
senior service programs. In March of 2005, I traveled to the Netherlands with other Mandel
School students and spent a week studying the adoption policies of the country. This trip
deepened my already passionate interest in the field of adoption. Upon my graduation from
the Mandel School in May of 2006, I hope to establish a career in the field of adoption, working
with parents who have adopted and their children.
