My name is Richard Romaniuk. I came to this country eight years ago. I was working in the field
of neuroscience. After coming to this country, I noticed a lot of differences compared to the place
I was coming from. In Poland, I was involved in social, and political issues and the same issues
caught my interest here in this country.
I found that I was interested in the field of chemical dependency and that people here deal with
it a little bit differenty than in Poland. I started becoming more interested in this field. I was
advised by somebody that the Mandel School of Social Science had international and intensive
semester programs.
Now I'm gaining more professional information in social work in order to deal with chemical
dependency clients. In the future, because of my accent, I would like to work with people with
culturaly different populations.
